After returning to London from our visit to Singapore in January, our focus has now shifted to finalising the Year 5 curriculum and we are working closely with Assistant Dean for Year 5 Associate Professor Tham Kum Ying to fine tune the last year of medical study before our students graduate as junior doctors.
This is an exciting time and although it will still be a couple of years before the inaugural cohort completes their studies, it is already clear that they will have experienced a first-class undergraduate medical programme and are very well equipped to cope with the challenges and opportunities of postgraduate training in Singapore.
Exchange visits to Singapore and London always leave us with fantastic memories, which continue to inspire us in our collaboration to refine and enhance the already outstanding LKCMedicine curriculum. To this end, we are planning a number of further visits to Singapore with senior members of the Imperial College School of Medicine, including Head of School Mr Martin Lupton. We hope through continued close collaborative work and reciprocal visits of faculty and students to continue developing and enhancing both the LKCMedicine and Imperial curricula.
