To celebrate the end of our School’s first ever academic year, the inaugural LKCMedicine Student Dinner & Dance (D&D) was held at Hotel Fort Canning on 3 July. It was also an opportunity for students to thank the staff and faculty for all their efforts in making student life smooth sailing.
Building on this, the ballroom was decked out in nautical blues and whites and staff and students all dressed up to match the occasion. The nautical theme also served as a reminder to students that we should stay anchored to our morals and values as medical students and doctors.
The event’s programme was full of games, which enabled students and staff to interact with one another and walk away with attractive prizes. It also included a performance by our very own Medicine Band, consisting of Lim Wei Shan, Delwyn Lim, Kiang Wen Wei, Leon Tan, Eden Tay and Huang Bao Xian.
Throughout the evening, awards for faculty and students were given out, including Mr and Ms Humerus, which went to Kuang Zi Chuen and Jacqueline Chua, and Sportiest Faculty, which went to Professor Michael Ferenczi.

The crowning award was the honour to be voted the first ever D&D King and Queen, which saw three couples vying for votes. The couples had to compete in a series of games to prove their worth, with the judges hard put to decide on a winner. Congratulations to the winners!
There was also a lucky draw with attractive prizes ranging from vouchers to a large flat-screen television.
Another highlight of the evening was the long anticipated announcement of the winner of the inaugural House Cup. Presented to the House which accumulated the most points from challenges held throughout the year, the inaugural House Cup was a tie between Alexander Fleming House and William Osler House.
To end the dinner, Ryan Chen put together a photo montage through which we relived the highlights from the first year, a brilliant end to a perfect evening!
