Official Opening of Research Techno Plaza Facility

On 1 August 2013, LKCMedicine’s interim facility in the Research Techno Plaza (RTP) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) was officially opened by NTU President Professor Bertil Andersson.

Professor Andersson said the world-class facilities at RTP will be a boon for LKCMedicine students and expressed delight that LKCMedicine’s research arm is staffed by renowned scientists and researchers. He added he is confident that NTU’s strength in research will give a boost to LKCMedicine’s own research, noting that the Experimental Medicine Building in the Yunnan Garden Campus, due to be completed in 2015, will lend added dimension to NTU’s continuing dedication to research.

LKCMedicine’s facility at RTP houses learning facilities such as the seminar room and learning laboratory as well as research laboratories. Students will attend lessons at RTP where they will also get the opportunity to witness researchers at work. During anatomy lessons, they will be making use of the Anatomage table which allows for realistic visualisations of life-size, full body anatomy in 3D, and handle plastinated specimens.

Professor Andersson was also brought on a tour of the RTP facility by Executive Vice-Dean Professor Lionel Lee and Operations and Resources Director Chan Wei Chuen.
