Filming of Curriculum Overview Videos

By Sufian Suderman

As part of an overall effort to design a learner-centred curriculum here at LKCMedicine, the School’s eLearning team is currently producing a series of videos giving an overview of the clinical areas of
the three systems-based teaching blocks in the School’s Year One MBBS Curriculum. The idea is that these interviews will provide students with a local clinical context for their learning and highlight
some of the key learning points in the teaching blocks. The videos feature seven of LKCMedicine’s Singapore-based leads.

The videos were recorded at LKCMedicine’s primary teaching hospital, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, from 15 January to 17 January 2013.

The filming of the videos was led by Dr Graham Easton, General Practitioner and acting Director of Primary Care Education at Imperial College London.

Aside from his medical practice, Dr Easton is an experienced medical journalist who has been with the BBC Science Unit for 10 years, during which he presented and produced a range of science and medical programmes. In addition, he was the editor of the British Medical Journal for four years and is on the editorial boards of the British Journal of General Practice and Education for Primary Care.
