Celebrating a splendid glory
​Appreciation dinner is held for alumni who participated in the Nanyang EMBA Gobi and MBA Yasha challenges

On 2 December 2017, Nanyang Business School (NBS) alumni participating in the Xuan Zang Road Business School Gobi Challenge and the Asia-Pacific Business School Desert Challenge gathered in Shanghai to attend the appreciation dinner organised by NBS. 

The dinner was hosted by NBS Dean Professor Neo Boon Siong, while Director of Chinese MBA and EMBA programmes Professor Wu Yuan, and Assistant Dean (Alumni) Associate Professor Chung Lai Hong were also present. Ms Janice Liew, Head of NBS Chinese Programmes and Ms Ann Ong, Senior Assistant Director of NBS Alumni Affairs were the emcees for the event.

The event commenced with Prof Neo’s opening remarks where he commended the NBS alumni who took the initiative to accomplish outstanding achievements with great effort, and waved NBS’ flag high up in the desert. He also thanked alumni for their unwavering support. 

President of Gobi Alumni Association Mr Lu Yiming (NBS/2017) also expressed his appreciation to alumni and NBS for their support. Asia-Pacific Business School Desert Challenge representatives Mr Bai Shuqing (NBS/2017) and Ms Liu Lili (Short Executive Programme/2016) donated the Group Trophy – Sha’Ou Trophy to the School as a token of appreciation.

The Gobi Challenge has a ten-year history. The training is ​tough and is important to have good team work in order to succeed. Prof Neo presented the Outstanding Contribution Award to 15 alumni working behind the scenes, in appreciation of their support and outstanding dedication. Prof Neo ​and Prof Wu Yuan also presented a thank-you letter to each alumnus.

The 13th Gobi Challenge team is already in place, and the team leader Mr Dai Yiping (NBS/2010) went on stage to encourage the participants and welcome fellow alumni to join the 13th Gobi Challenge team.
