On 3 December 2014, LKCMedicine hosted more than 200 prospective students to the School’s 3rd Evening with the Deans, hosted by Dean Professor James Best. Held at the Suntec City Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, students had the opportunity to interact with key LKCMedicine staff and faculty, including the Vice-Deans and Assistant Deans, as well as some 30 LKCMedicine students during a reception before sitting down to hear more about the School.

After a warm welcome by Prof Best, Vice-Dean for Education Associate Professor Naomi Low-Beer talked about the School’s innovative curriculum, adapted from Imperial College London’s world-class programme, early clinical experience and the Long-Term Patient Project as well as the dual campus. Assistant Dean for Phase 2 & 3 Associate Professor Tham Kum Ying then talked students through how the LKCMedicine programme prepares them for a life in medicine.
Assistant Dean for Admissions Professor John Laycock explained in detail the School’s rigorous admissions process which includes the BMAT and Multiple-Mini Interviews. LKCMedicine students Joseph Wong and Wee Lin concluded the series of presentations by bringing to life the vibrant student life that awaits new students.


The evening ended on a lively note with an engaging Q&A session chaired by Assoc Prof Low-Beer with panellists Assistant Dean for Phase 1 Professor Mike Ferenczi, Assoc Prof Tham, Prof Laycock, Assistant Dean for Integrated Care Associate Professor Chin Jing Jih and Joseph.
