NTU alumni and their families spend a cool weekend up at Cameron Highlands enjoying all that the countryside had to offer
Escaping Singapore’s warm weather and busy city life, the participants spent an idyllic weekend enjoying the cool weather of Cameron Highlands, Malaysia. During the trip, they visited a tea plantation, vegetable farm and explored the many countryside attractions.
The first morning after arrival at Cameron Highlands the night before, alumni visited the Sungei Palas Tea Plantation; a definite must-see on the list of to do things in Cameron Highlands. Located on a hilltop, the plantation offered a comprehensive introduction to Malaysian teas in a truly spectacular setting. At the plantation, participants learnt more about the tea manufacturing process. Shortly after, the group proceeded to visit a vegetable farm.
Alumni then spent the afternoon on a countryside tour, visiting the Ye Olde Smoke House
– an authentic English cottage inn designed in English Tudor style, dating back to 1937. The tour also included visits to the local Brinchang Market, Tanah Rata Town Centre, Strawberry Farm and Rose Garden.
