Honouring students’ spirit of volunteerism
An appreciation reception is held to recognise Student Alumni Associates for their contribution in keeping the NTU community closely knit

At the appreciation dinner held on 25 February, Student Alumni Associates (SAAs) were honoured for their dedication and contribution in strengthening the bond between NTU students and alumni. Thirty-seven SAAs were appointed, bringing the total number to 496.

The SAA programme was initiated by the NTU Alumni Affairs Office in 2007 to recognise existing students who have played a vital role towards the development and cultivation of alumni relations among the student and alumni networks.

Mr Soon Min Yam, Director of NTU Alumni Affairs expressed his appreciation to the SAAs for their contribution. He said: “On behalf of NTU, I thank you for your passion, commitment and dedication. I hope that even after graduation, you will continue to stay connected with the University.”

During the presentation ceremony, the SAAs each received a certificate and token of appreciation from Mr Soon. This was followed by the tossing of yusheng, signifying a Lunar New Year tradition, with students and guests making auspicious wishes for a prosperous and healthy new year. The buffet dinner thereafter allowed students to network with fellow friends and staff members.
